of Jewish culture, history and the Hebrew language. She is known for her
fun-filled renditions of traditional folktales, original stories,
poignant family narratives and inspirational stories from the
Holocaust, most notably A
Window of Beauty.
With
gentle power and disarming humor,
Nancy
has performed for diverse audiences at a variety of venues,
including the prestigious
National Storytelling Festival Exchange Place, the Illinois Storytelling Festival, Tell It In the Mountains of
North Carolina, the Chicago Jewish Folk Arts Festival and Whitwell Middle School,
Tennessee -
the home of The Children’s Holocaust Memorial.
Among her
delighted listeners are the students at the Solomon
Schechter Day School of Illinois, where she has taught since 1989.
Named ‘Resident Storyteller’ of her school, Nancy’s
talent has also been praised by teacher organizations, women’s
groups, churches, schools, festivals and fellow storytellers.
